Treetops Lodge & Wilderness Estate

Few places in New Zealand truly embody the spirit of luxury wilderness adventures more than the award-winning Treetops Lodge & Wilderness Estate, Rotorua.  Located in the heart of New Zealand’s world famous therapeutic thermal region and trout fishing capital, it offers small incentive and VIP groups the ultimate in world class luxury accommodation and outdoor adventure experiences.  The property is an exclusive sanctuary surrounded by 2,500 acres of secluded native forestry, and nestled amidst magnificent, native, 800 year old forests and valleys.  Its private location  provides guests with an education on the local flora and fauna,  viewing wildlife such as stags and wild pigs roaming free, trout filled streams, lakes with birdlife, and even glow worms.

The Lodge with its elegant, architectural style derived from the country's pioneering past, can be booked out for exclusive use.   Treetops accommodates up to 26 guests on a twin share basis or 13 guests single occupancy in the four suites and eight private, ultra-luxurious villas located in the extensive grounds.  There is also access to the Pheasant House a private self contained cottage on the grounds that can sleep 8 pax in total.

Fine cuisine is an integral part of the Treetops experience and the menus are created by the Lodge's talented chefs using the finest game and locally grown produce, complemented by an array of premium New Zealand wines.

The activities on site are diverse and diverting.  Guests can participate in a range of executive, team building, and special interest activities, that offer adventure, eco and educational experiences.  Treetops is a carefully managed game and wildlife habitat for fly fishermen and the property offers seven streams, on-site trout fishing, and four lakes.  Onsite activities include over 70km of hiking and jogging tracks, nature walks, GEO caching, unguided/guided trout fishing, mountain bike riding, archery, clay target, and horse riding. Guided options include a 4WD photo safari, an educational Maori food trail safari, exclusive horse trekking safari, bird watching and a nature trail safari.

Whilst there is so much to do onsite, the property is remote which is part of the appeal, and they do have their own helicopter and landing pad for guests wishing to explore the surrounding area by air.  Ideal for those wanting to golf at the nearby Jack Nicklaus designed Kinloch Golf Course, view the amazing volcanic White Island, visit the nearby ski region, enjoy a  tour of some vineyards in the area, or simply take in the sights of the spectacular geothermal region.
